How do I know if my roof needs to be repaired?

Any of the following indicate your roof is in need of some type of repair:

-Termite damage
-Rotting
-Curling or loose shingles
-Wallpaper showing stains, separating, or damp to the touch at the ceiling
-Damp or brown ceiling spots resembling small puddles

If your roof is more than 15 years old, it may need replacing. If you have one or more of these issues, it is best to have an inspection done to determine the size of your roof's problems.

I want a maintenance-free roof, is it a possibility?

Metal or cement tile roofing offers the closest maintenance-free solution, though concrete roofing is also a good option for lower maintenance. While an asphalt or composite shingle roof protector will inhibit growth of fungus, mildew, and algae, which will leave permanent stains on your shingles or shakes, keeping your roof free of debris will extend the lifetime of your shingle roof even further.

Does a leak in my roof mean replacing the entire roof?

Not necessarily. A leak due to storm damage or another event may need to be patched. However, if you find multiple small leaks or an aged roof, the solution may be replacement.

How long does a roofing job last?

This is completely dependent upon your roof. A simple roof job can be completed in a day or two. More complicated jobs, such as larger structures with gables, steeper slopes, and other architectural details can take up to a week or more. Inclement weather conditions can certainly delay or draw out a roofing job.

Can my new roof be layed right over my old roof?

In some cases, no tear-off of the old shingles is needed before installation of a new roof. However, your area's building codes may restrict this practice. Removal of your old roof will offer many benefits such as the ability to install waterproofing materials, an even, new roof line, and discovery of insulation, ventilation, or condensation problems, not to mention roof deck damage itself.

Can we continue to live in our home while the roofing work is being completed?

Absolutely! Aside from unavoidable noise levels, the roofing work being done will not interfere with your normal day-to-day life.

Can I obtain local references for your company?

You can e-mail your request to us and we will be happy to provide you with that information.
